Containment Connector™

US Pat. 12,377,299

The Containment Connector is a single unit that expels water. With appropriate size hoses and connectors between multiple hoses, the line can produce a virtual wall of water from a few hundred to a few thousand feet. This can be done with a single pump from a single water source.

NOT JUST FOR WILDFIRES, Containment Connectors come in multiple sizes for uses in industrial, commercial, and residential fires.

What is it?

The Containment Connector™ system is a force multiplier that enhances the safety of firefighters and supports quicker responses for establishing control lines more rapidly at fire inception.  The Containment Connector™ is a connecting part placed between fire hoses.  It expels water (or fire-retardant chemicals).

How does it work?

With advance preparation and pre-racking on deployment vehicle of choice, the Containment Connector™ system can be deployed quickly.  Upon arrival at designated containment line, the Containment Connector™ system setup can operate multiple units off of a single pump and single water source. The Containment Connector™ system then creates a virtual wall of water (W.O.W.) which is used for advanced saturation of ground fuel against approaching fires.

NOT just for Wildfires!

Why do we need it?

Actual fire events and studies have proven that advance saturation, ongoing mists and saturation along with hot-spot coverage can protect and even save structures in the middle of a raging fire.

When there are structural fires, firefighters focus on putting out the fire, but may also saturate nearby structures to keep the fire from spreading.

In the case of Prescribed Burns, WE CAN and MUST DO MORE! Using a virtual W.O.W. for saturation of exterior boundaries can reduce the number of prescribed burns that get out of their boundaries.

  • Can be deployed at night and in high winds when certain other equipment may not be deployed.
  • Can increase a control line’s coverage area with fewer responders. This force multiplier frees up more responders for direct attacks and hot spots.
  • Can increase the number of saturation boundaries which diminishes the potential for ignition points by floating embers.
